Trash Pickup Rules:
Have your cart out by 6:00 a.m. on pickup day.

The county places a pin flag to mark the proper cart location.
Wheels and handles face the residence.
The lid must be fully closed; garbage must be bagged and placed loosely.
Double-bag animal waste.
No extra bags or unauthorized containers — only what's inside the cart gets picked up.
Max cart weight: 250 lbs.
Remove carts from the Right-of-Way by 7:00 p.m. the day after pickup.
Don’t move carts to a new address yourself — call Solid Waste to relocate.
Keep carts 4 ft away from poles, mailboxes, vehicles, hydrants, trees, and under clear overhead space.
No hot ashes, liquids, paint, tires, animal carcasses, hazardous waste, acids, or auto parts.

Cart Use and Care
All garbage must be bagged in heavy-duty plastic bags and placed in assigned carts.
Solid Waste isn’t responsible for spillage due to animals or bad placement.
Only garbage in carts — no paint, tires, hazardous waste, etc.
Needles must be placed in a bottle/container before disposal.

Cart abuse = $75 replacement fee.

What We Don't Pick Up
Batteries, tires, propane tanks — residents' responsibility.
Definitions
Garbage: Regular household waste (no furniture, remodeling debris, etc.).
Trash: Large boxes, furniture, appliances, remodeling debris.
Yard Debris: Tree limbs, shrubs, grass, leaves, pine straw.
Fees and Billing
$17.00 per month
$5.00 late fee will be charged if not paid by the last business day of the month.
New accounts require 4 months paid upfront (non-refundable).
90 days past due = cart retrieval + $50 re-delivery fee.
Residents may face civil or criminal charges for non-payment.
Additional Carts
First cart: free.
1 additional cart is available for $10 extra per month.
Carts belong to Henry County — do not move them when relocating.
Active accounts can request extra carts at no charge for events, such as weddings, funerals, or reunions.
Requests must be submitted at least 7 days in advance (with the exception of funerals).

Cash or Check (no extra fee)
EFT withdrawal around the 20th of each month.
Returned checks or EFTs = $30 fee.
